Bengawan UV Wins in the 2022 KKTCBN Competition

6 December, 2022

FT UNS—The Bengawan UV team won three awards in the 2022 National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest (KKTCBN) competition at UPN Veteran East Java. Bengawan UV won 3rd place in the Fuel Engine Remote Control (FERC) category and the Fun Battle FERC Champion, and took 1st place in the Electric Remote-Control category.

KKTCBN is a competition held by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek). The competition took place on November 11–15, 2022, and was attended by various universities in Indonesia. This competition is aimed at students and is held every year.

Andreal Muhammad Naufal, a 2019 Mechanical Engineering student and General Manager of Bengawan UV, noted that BUV's preparations for this competition began in June or July when the standards were first released. Preparation begins with the creation of a ship design, followed by the creation of a ship prototype and the testing of a ship prototype. Six Bengawan UV categories followed, all in the field of ship prototypes.

The competition in its technical implementation is approximately the same as the three categories that Bengawan UV gets.

"We build a prototype of a ship based on a design, then on D-day we launch a time attack with the fastest time gain and shoot the target that has been provided with the armament system that we have prepared," Andreal added.

The UV Bengawan Team's hard effort, which we saw when they tested their prototype in Lake UNS, demonstrated how excited Bengawan UV was about participating in the KKTCBN competition. Every year, Bengawan UV participates in the event and, fortunately, always wins.

"The feeling we receive is that we are extremely delighted that we can participate in the KKTCBN event again, and we hope that the campus support will help Bengawan UV to spread its wings even farther."

Bengawan UV also announced that they will compete in the world tournament in 2023. Bengawan UV sought assistance from several groups in order to send the contingent to the competition as an Indonesian delegation.
